What is your favorite street? 

"There's a perfect block of Guernsey Street near the historic district in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, my old neighborhood. It's a narrow, low-traffic street, lined with thornless honeylocust that form a vaulted, almost cathedral-like ceiling"

 Ellen is a landscape designer, certified planner, transportation planner, and GIS analyst. Her work combines planning-scale analysis with an eye for landscape detailing and environmental design impacts.


Prior to her MLA studies and work at Arterial, Ellen received a master in urban planning and worked as a transportation planner for Nelson\Nygaard Consulting, helping communities design better transportation networks and streets.

Ellen is an avid cyclist and has ridden in more than 20 states and a handful of countries. She’s never more at home than when on a multi-day (or, even better, a multi-week!)

bicycle tour with her husband and at least one of their musical instruments.
