James is a Landscape & Urban Designer whose strong background with plant material, a passion for stormwater management and keen design sense provide Arterial’s clients with innovative solutions and beautiful landscapes. His particular focus is on parks, public space, roof terraces and green infrastructure. If he is not in the office, you’ll be sure to find him in the field tagging trees or on-site overseeing the installation of plant material.

With over 10 years of experience in design and construction, James has worked on a number of complex projects including the HUD Rebuild by Design competition, a comprehensive stormwater management system in Hoboken. During his time with Arterial, he has been a key member on several projects ranging from pedestrian plazas, infiltration plantings on various streetscapes and large urban parks. James has extensive experience in construction observation where he most recently oversaw the planting for a $3.8 million dollar streetscape that includes rain gardens, street trees and extensive native plantings.

In his free time, James enjoys traveling and being out in different landscapes. Whether at the beach or in the mountains, he is always up for an adventure, enjoying the great outdoors.
