Amidst and beneath an extensive array of highway infrastructure in Jersey City, NJ, lies this region's next vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood. The catalyst for this new development will be a 14-acre park that reclaims the underutilized space beneath a web of on/off-ramps. This 'infra-space' will be transformed into a unique public park that incorporates a series of active and passive public spaces.
Arterial was commissioned to develop the vision for this new "infra-space park." Elements of the park will include public art, programmable event space, open lawns, sport courts and a skate park. A bicycle path will link this park to the other public spaces throughout the city.
