Memorial Park is a 43-acre community park located in the heart of Livingston, NJ. The park is comprised of both passive and active recreation areas ranging from ballfields and a public pool to picnic areas and nature trails. While some areas of the park are heavily used for community events, sports and exercise, other areas of the park are largely underutilized.

Arterial was commissioned to develop a master plan for this park. The plan was developed through a community-driven Integrated Design Process. Unique outreach techniques were used, including visual preference surveys, a community open house in the park, a park “walk-about” assessment and a web-based community survey. The final park master plan included a variety of passive and active uses all tied together with a continuous 2+ mile exercise loop. The final step was to develop an implementation plan that identifies discrete projects and allows the township to phase the Master Plan over many years.
