Merit Award: Landscape Planning and Analysis - NJASLA, 2022
Arterial was retained to develop a landscape master plan for a 180-acre office park that was undergoing a market repositioning. As the traditional office park model has declined, the client recognized the need to transform the site in order to make it a viable place for years to come.
The landscape master plan focuses on several key elements necessary for successful repositioning. The creation of an interconnected campus via walking/jogging trails and an internal street network is at the core of the plan, enabling the new mixed-use district and recently renovated buildings multiple ways to access the site amenities. This network weaves the campus together, creating a walkable/bikeable site where residents, visitors and workers can walk and ride comfortably. Arterial was later commissioned to develop full design documents for the first phase of construction. Key features include a parking court, collaborative outdoor co-work spaces, renovated streets, walking/jogging trails, parks and open spaces, a fitness court, a basketball court, flexible fields and a children’s playground.
